A power battery is the power source that provides power for tools. It mainly refers to the battery that provides power for electric cars, trains, bicycles, and golf carts.

There are many types of power batteries suitable for different scenarios. Either way, the heat will continue to heat up in the working condition, which is a test for the cooling system. In particular, with the rapid development of electric vehicles, there are more long-range and efficient batteries, and cooling is always a key technology. In recent years, water cooling technology, also known as liquid cooling technology, began to be introduced.

So what is power battery liquid cooling?

 

A power battery's typical liquid cooling system must have the following components: water cooling block, circulating liquid, pump, pipe, and water tank heat exchanger. A water-cooling block is a metal block made of copper or aluminum with a water channel inside that contacts the battery and absorbs its heat. The circulating liquid is circulated through the pipe by the pump. 

 

The circulating liquid that absorbs the battery's heat will flow away from the water cooler, and the new low-temperature circulating liquid will continue to absorb the heat of the battery. The water pipe connects the pump, water cooling block, and water tank. Its function is to circulate circulating liquid in a closed channel without leakage so that the liquid cooling system can work. 

 

The water tank stores circulating fluid, and the heat exchanger is a finer-like device in which the circulating fluid transfers heat to a radiator with a large surface area, and the fan on the heat sink carries the heat into the air.

 

The essence of liquid cooling is the same as that of air cooling, except that liquid cooling USES circulating liquid transfers the heat of the battery from the water cooling block to the heat exchanger and then gives out, replacing the homogeneous metal or heat pipe of air cooling. The heat exchanger is almost a copy of the air-cooling heat sink. 

 

The liquid cooling system has two major features: balanced battery heat and low noise work. Due to the heat capacity of the water is very big, which can absorb a lot of heat and keep the temperature within an appropriate change. The temperature of the surface cells in the system can get good control.

 

The emergency operation will not significantly cause the battery's internal temperature instant change because the heat exchanger surface area is large, so only a low-speed fan for heat dissipation can play a good effect. Hence, most liquid-cooled collocation fan rotational speed is low. In addition, the water pump working noise generally is not very obvious, so the whole cooling system, compared with the air cooling system, was very quiet.
